Spotlight on: Legacy Giving

The Shirley & Barton Weisman Delray Community Center is a hub of activity for seniors in South Palm Beach County. More than 1700 members enjoy educational, health and wellness programs, art and computer classes, social services and a kosher café as a home away from home.

For naming benefactors Shirley and Bart Weisman, the motivation to give a legacy gift to ensure the future of the Center was simply following in a tradition of family giving. As their family did in their communities, the Weismans believe that leaving a legacy is critical for the generations that follow. As Bart so eloquently expressed, “There is such satisfaction that our family will be able to look back and be proud that we did something so special for others in our lifetime. We need funds for the future, and as leaders in the community, we want to inspire others by our example. Legacy giving gave us the opportunity to make a difference.”

Ruth& Norman Rales Jewish Family Services is honored to have such dedicated, devoted supporters as Shirley & Bart Weisman. Their longtime commitment and generosity to our community is truly a heartfelt legacy of caring for others.
