Take Action Against Hunger This September for

Hunger Action Month

September is Hunger Action Month, a time to stand together against food insecurity.

In Palm Beach County alone, over 168,000 residents rely on SNAP to put food on the table. At Rales JFS, our food pantry fills the gap for families, seniors, and children facing tough times.

Join us in fighting hunger — donate today and help stock our shelves with hope.

For more information, contact Rales JFS at (561) 852-3333.

One Day. One Color. One Community United Against Hunger.

We’re so grateful to everyone who stood with us on Hunger Action Day!

On September 16th, our community came together in orange—sparking conversations, raising awareness, and showing support for the 1 in 7 neighbors in Palm Beach County who don’t always know where their next meal will come from.

Because of you, hope feels a little brighter. Every photo shared, every kind word, and every donation reminds families that they are not alone.

Keep sharing your Hunger Action Month moments with #HungerActionMonth25 & @RalesJFS—and remember, the Jacobson Family Food Pantry is here all year long thanks to your generosity.

A Taste of Tradition:

High Holiday Meals Delivered With Love by Rales JFS

Rales JFS delivered High Holiday meals to 130 seniors, who are currently clients of the Jacobson Family Food Pantry, located in Delray Beach. 45 cars of volunteers arrived at the pantry to pick up the meals, along with a loaf of challah, apples, and honey. The meals were delivered with care and warmth, enabling these homebound seniors to enjoy the holiday.

Rales JFS recognizes that many of these seniors live alone, face mobility issues, and would have no other way to celebrate the holidays. This annual initiative provides meaningful connection and allows the seniors to celebrate the holiday with dignity and tradition. Jaclyn Tureff, Senior Vice President of Community Services shared, “Rosh Hashanah is a time of new beginnings, hope, and sweetness. Many seniors in our community cannot prepare a holiday meal, so by delivering these meals, we are bringing comfort and joy into their homes. It’s our way of reminding our seniors that they are cherished, remembered, and deserving of a sweet New Year.”

Community Mentors Inspire Big Dreams with Vision Boards and Mindful Moments

This past Sunday, our Community Mentoring Program came together over lunch for a special day of inspiration and creativity.

The Kindness Matters 365 Organization was on hand to begin the session with calming breathing exercises and then gave a presentation on the importance of perseverance. Afterwards, our mentees got to work creating vision boards — a visual roadmap for how they’d like their school year to unfold. From the youngest dreamers to our oldest achievers, everyone had a chance to share their goals, from straight A’s, a magical trip to Disney World, and professional aspirations, the visions were incredible! As they departed, each mentee received an age-appropriate journal to document and keep them on track with their vision boards.

We can’t wait to see all these dreams come to life.

To become a mentor or mentee, contact Lisa at LisaCa@ralesjfs.org.
