A Night of Fun, Fellowship, and Philanthropy: Rales JFS' 3rd Annual "Not Your Mother's Game Night" Shines
at The Polo Club
Rales JFS 3rd Annual "Not Your Mother's Game Night" was a Resounding Success! The Polo Club of Boca Raton was abuzz with excitement as 400 women gathered for the 3rd annual "Not Your Mother's Game Night," a delightful evening of canasta, mah jongg, and newly added Bubbly Bingo. The event, held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, was co-chaired by dynamic mother-daughter duos Melissa Hoffman & Barbara Glasband and Debra Minoff & Vicki Weinstein. Each year, this event has grown in popularity and has proven a fantastic way to kick off the event season at Rales JFS.
The Bubbly Bingo Committee, comprising Cindy Arenson, Lori Ford, Nataly Rothschild, Jamie Spoont, and Amanda Triner, ensured the evening was filled with fun prizes, delicious food and drinks, and lots of laughter. The event aimed to bring awareness and raise funds for the vital programs and services at Rales JFS.
Attendees enjoyed a night of camaraderie and competition, all while supporting a worthy cause. The success of the event is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the co-chairs and the generosity of the sponsors and participants.

Honoring National Family Caregiver Month: Rales JFS Offers Resources and Respite for Caregiving Families
Caregivers often report that they experience a sense of purpose and gratitude at being able to care for their family member. At Rales JFS, we acknowledge the feelings of frustration, anger and grief that may be part of the caregiving journey. Our Caregivers Resources & Respite Program is here to offer support, education and respite to help sustain caregivers. Support sessions are currently being offered online and in person several times each week. Our program is free of charge thanks to program funding from the Area Agency on Aging the Florida Department of Elder Affairs.

Weisman Center Diamond Club Welcomes Author Marc Gellman for a Heartfelt Discussion on His Memoir,
Seven Days of SHIVA
The Weisman Center Diamond Club was pleased to welcome author Marc Gellman. Mr. Gellman discussed his poignant memoir, Seven Days of SHIVA recounting his life with his beloved wife, Barbara, who passed away after a thirty-year battle with breast cancer. Through seven days of sitting Shiva, the author reflects on their 46-year love story, from their teenage meeting in the 1960s to a rich life of marriage, parenting, and growing old together. With humor and honesty, he shared the joy, struggles, and deep bond they shared, revealing the strength of Barbara's fight against cancer and the depth of their love. The memoir is a testament to their remarkable journey, full of laughter, devotion, and enduring teenage love.

West Boca Raton High School Hosts Successful Mental Health Symposium and Resource Fair, Featuring Rales JFS Domestic Abuse Education & Action | |
The West Boca Raton High School PTSA hosted a successful Mental Health Symposium and Resource Fair on Tuesday, November 19th. The event brought together students, families, parents, and several local agencies, fostering a collaborative atmosphere around mental health awareness and well-being.
During the event, students asked insightful questions about mental health and how to incorporate healthy coping skills into their daily lives. The event featured a resource fair and an informative panel discussion that provided valuable insights on mental health topics. Attendees had the opportunity to connect with local providers and gather information about available mental health services.
Among the many agencies present, the Rales JFS Domestic Abuse Education & Action Department offered support and information about its various programs. Additionally, students expressed interest in the upcoming Teenagers Against Relationship Abuse (TARA) program, which will be held in February 2025 at West Boca High School. This program aims to provide the students with further education and resources on healthy relationships.

We are thrilled to share the success of our recent Parlor Event, graciously sponsored by Rales JFS Board Member, Debra Marcus, and her husband, Joshua Marcus. This intimate gathering at the beautiful Royal Palm Polo Clubhouse provided a wonderful opportunity for guests to learn about the vital programs and services that Rales JFS offers to our community.
One of our clients shared her heartfelt story, recounting the challenges she faced when she unexpectedly became a single mother, raising a child with special needs on her own. With no one to turn to, she found hope and support through Rales JFS, which has been life-changing for her and her son.
