A Bold Vision for a Stronger Community

The One Family. Our Future Campaign is a bold and ambitious initiative to transform and expand the vital services provided by Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS), meeting the rapidly growing needs of the South Palm Beach community. With identified needs of at least $25 million, this campaign is a powerful call to action—focused on the nearly 50,000 individuals JFS serves annually—delivering essential support such as food, therapy, financial assistance, and housing stability.

Why Now?

The moment is urgent. The demand for services is rising dramatically:

  • The 85+ senior population is projected to grow by 15% in five years, with over 55% requiring in-home care.
  • Family households in JFS service areas will increase by 30%, with 16% earning less than $30,000.
  • A mental health crisis is escalating.
  • Food insecurity continues to impact thousands of working families.
  • This is a critical inflection point—and JFS is responding with bold action.

5. Building a Sustainable Endowment

A strong endowment is essential to ensure JFS can weather economic challenges and maintain high-quality programs for generations to come. A strengthened endowment encourages planned giving and legacy commitments, inviting our community to help preserve and protect the JFS mission long into the future. Because when you invest in the future of JFS, you’re investing in the future of every family we serve.

One Family. Our Future. Campaign FAQ’s

  1. What is the One Family. Our Future. Campaign?

We are launching a Comprehensive Campaign to enhance, expand, and sustain our core services so that no one is left behind. Our Comprehensive Campaign encompasses program expansion, capital improvements, endowments, and legacy initiatives. It is anchored by five strategic funding priorities that guide our vision and impact: 1. Health Services Expansion, 2. Food & Life Programs, 3. Emergency Housing & Support, 4. Senior Services and Weisman Delray Community Center, 5. Endowment Opportunities.
2. Why is JFS conducting a campaign now?

With the rising cost of living and a widening income gap, many of our neighbors are teetering on the edge. Without timely support, their needs will deepen, and their options will shrink. The time to act is now. This campaign is our opportunity collectively to commit and to ensure every person has access to the care, resources, and relationships they need to thrive.

3. What is the goal of the campaign?

The campaign seeks to secure the resources necessary to sustain, strengthen, and expand programs and services that support our community’s most vulnerable individuals and families.

4. Is this campaign funding new programs or supporting existing ones?

Both. The campaign helps sustain vital existing programs while creating opportunities to expand services and address emerging community needs.

5. How will campaign funds be used?

  • Health Services Expansion
  • In the Toby and Leon Cooperman Therapy & Family Resource Center, JFS will hire 2 specialized pediatric therapists and a Parent Advocate.

  • Equip therapy rooms with cutting-edge tools and technologies.

  • Establish a robust reserve fund to ensure sustainability and protect against
  • future disruption.
  • Encourage legacy and planned gifts that extend impact far into the future.
  • Create endowed named positions and departments to support the
  • important work we do.

6. Can I designate my gift to a specific area?

Naming opportunities are available within each area of need.

7. How will this campaign make a difference in our community?

This campaign unlocks five transformative opportunities to elevate care, deepen impact, and build a future where compassion leads the way, and where no one is left behind.

8. Who benefits from JFS services?

JFS serves individuals and families across all stages of life, including children, teens, adults, older adults, caregivers, people with disabilities, Holocaust survivors, veterans, and those facing financial or emotional challenges.

9. Why should someone give if they have never used JFS services?

Many donors give because they believe in creating a stronger, healthier community. Supporting JFS ensures help is available for neighbors, friends, family members, and future generations who may need assistance.

10. What community challenges is the campaign addressing?

South Palm Beach County is growing and changing faster than ever. Over the next five years:

  • The 85+ senior population is projected to grow by 15%, and more than 55% will need help with in-home care, transportation, financial assistance and meals.
  • The number of family households within Rales JFS service areas is projected to grow by 30% and 16% are projected to have an income of less than $30,000.
  • Mental health waitlists are long and growing longer.
  • Food and housing insecurity are now realities for working families.

11. Do gifts of all sizes matter?

Absolutely. Every gift contributes to the campaign’s success and demonstrates community-wide support for the mission.

12. Can I make a multi-year pledge?

Many donors choose to make a pledge that can be fulfilled over five years, allowing them to make a larger impact through manageable payments.

13. Can I include JFS in my estate plans?

Yes. Planned gifts can provide a legacy and ensure that future generations continue to benefit from JFS services.

14. What does success look like for this campaign?

Success means ensuring that JFS has the resources needed to meet growing community needs, innovate where necessary, and remain a trusted source of support for decades to come.

15. What happens after the campaign ends?

The campaign is not an end point—it’s an investment in the future. The funds raised will help position JFS for long-term sustainability and ongoing impact.

16. Why is the campaign called “One Family. Our Future.”?

At JFS, we believe family isn’t defined by who you’re born to. Family is who stands with you. Who shows up. Who cares. And that belief shapes everything we do. This legacy is our guiding light. Because when one family is lifted up, the entire community rises. And when one life is stabilized, a ripple of strength begins.
