Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services is proud to announce Wendy and Bruce Dan as our February Donors of the Month. Wendy and Bruce first learned about Rales JFS through friends in the community. Once they learned about the programs and services offered and the efforts to address community needs, they knew they wanted to become involved. Since Bruce lost many family members during the Holocaust, the program that resonates the most with them is Holocaust Survivors Assistance, specifically through the Giving Circles: L’dor V’dor initiative. They chose to join this Giving Circle because they know that their giving joined with the donations of other Giving Circle members will ensure that Holocaust Survivors will be able to age in place. It brings them comfort knowing that they are part of a group that collectively gives to this program, making a lasting impact on Holocaust Survivors. They both feel strongly that giving back will honor the memories of those family members they lost and inspire others to do the same.
For the past 3 years, Wendy and Bruce headed the fundraising efforts in their community for the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County, including their most successful to date, the Annual Golf & Dinner event. Bruce has also served on the JFSPBC Board of Directors for 3 years, taking on a role as an Executive Board member this past year. Additionally, Wendy has taken on co-chairing a food drive with their community that will benefit the Jacobson Family Food Pantry. Outside of their philanthropic efforts, spending time with their 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and their two dogs is what brings them the most joy.
