Career Strategist

Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services is currently seeking a Career Strategist, who is responsible for assessing a client’s employability and developing a mutually agreed upon career & employment services plan primarily through counseling and case management. This position will work closely with the VP of Career & Employment Services. 
Specific Job Responsibilities Include: 
  1. Assesses client’s employability and barriers to employability and self-sufficiency by gathering and analyzing data from in-person sessions.
  2. Counsels clients in identifying and analyzing personal strengths and challenges by utilizing motivational techniques to encourage clients to pursue and retain employment with an emphasis on self-sufficiency.
  3. Assists clients in analyzing their strengths to resolve problems and to formulate individualized and mutually agreed upon career action plans.
  4. Provides information to clients about resources within the program, agency, and community, and assists in selecting and utilizing appropriate resources.
  5. Conducts comprehensive assessment of client’s level of job-readiness.
  6. Facilitates orientation sessions, workshops, groups, and other relevant meetings.
  7. Evaluates client’s participation and progress within the program.
  8. Confers with other staff within the program and agency to take a holistic approach to career and employment services.
  9. Uses appropriate computer systems to maintain and update client records.
  10. Participates in pilot and other special projects and programs.

Required Education and Experience: 
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Career Counseling, Psychology, Sociology, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in counseling, career counseling or background in working with clients on employment-related issues.
  • Must be proficient in resume writing.

Have availability to:
  • Work extended hours, evenings and some weekends as needed.
  • Travel within the Boca Raton/Highland Beach/Delray Beach community.
  • Car and valid driver’s license is required.
