Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (Rales JFS) proudly recognizes Melissa Hoffman as the April 2024 Donor of the Month for her exceptional support in Boca Raton. Melissa’s connection to Rales JFS began through a friend of her parents, who served on the Board. Inspired by this connection, her husband, Ben, also joined as a Board Member.

Melissa’s dedication to Rales JFS surpasses financial contributions. Together with Ben, they give generously throughout the year, aiming to inspire younger friends, neighbors, and colleagues to support the organization for generations to come. Melissa actively encourages others to explore Rales JFS and discover the diverse services and programs available for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Among the programs, Friendly Visitors holds special significance for Melissa. For three years, she volunteered with her daughter, visiting homebound seniors in the community, offering companionship and conversation. Witnessing the profound impact of this program firsthand, Melissa describes it as truly remarkable. Additionally, Melissa and Ben are deeply committed to supporting programs for Holocaust Survivors, a cause particularly meaningful to them as Ben’s grandparents are survivors. Melissa has personally participated in the March of the Living trip, gaining a firsthand understanding of Holocaust history.

Beyond her philanthropic efforts, Melissa co-founded an organization with her twins, dedicated to creating care packages for premature babies in local NICUs. Inspired by her own experiences and the lack of support she encountered, Melissa initiated this meaningful project. Outside of her charitable work, Melissa finds joy in spending time with family and friends, engaging in activities like tennis, golf, and card games.
