JFS is pleased to announce its 2015-2016 Board of Directors. The installation took place at the Agency’s Annual Meeting held April 23rd at the Shirley & Barton Weisman Delray Community Center.

Changing of the Guard: Newly elected Chair of the Board, Judi Donoff with outgoing Chair, Jon Kimmel

Judi Donoff was elected as the new Chair of the Board taking over from Jon Kimmel, whose 2 year term as Chair concluded. Judi has served on the JFS Board for the past 8 years chairing numerous events including the Annual Gala and the Reflections of Hope Luncheon. Prior to that Judi served as Vice Chair of Financial Resource Development and most recently as First Vice Chair. “My passion for JFS grew the more involved I got and saw the wonderful work the Agency did to help those in our community,” stated Donoff. “I’m honored to move into the role of Chair and look forward to continuing the great work of the Agency. Jon Kimmel has been a wonderful mentor. He has done an incredible job as Chair and is a great example to follow.”

Judi has resided in Boca Raton for 19 years. Originally from Canada, she is a prestigious interior designer and member of the American Society of Interior Designers. Judi is a former board member of Florida Atlantic University's CARD (Center for Autism and Related Disabilities) Board and has chaired numerous events for organizations including 211, the Center for Family Services and Kids Sanctuary. She and her husband Craig, an estate planning attorney, co-founded the Chase Donoff Aftercare Program at the Peter Blum YMCA in Boca Raton and were recently honored by Israel Bonds. Judi has three children; two sons, Matthew and Garrett Nemeroff, and a daughter, Lindsey Donoff-Silverman.

Jon Kimmel remains on the Board as Immediate Past Chair. He is excited about the Agency’s next stage, “Judi’s steadfast commitment to JFS along with her shared values will help her continue to lead the Agency to new heights. I, and my wife Betty, look forward to working closely with Judi while continuing to support JFS in every way possible.”

Danielle Hartman, President & CEO, is excited about the future of the Agency. “I am looking forward to working with Judi in her new role,” Hartman said. “With Judi having been on the Board for several years, we expect a smooth transition. Jon Kimmel has been an excellent role model for Judi to follow. The Agency can’t thank Jon enough for his hard work and dedication to JFS over the past two years.”

New Board Members include: Steven Becker, Executive VP and Treasurer at Southern Wine & Spirits; Deborah Belford, Philanthropist; Lorrie Berkowitz, retired Clinical Psychologist and former Attorney; Toby Cooperman, Philanthropist; Samy Dwek, Managing Director, J.P. Morgan Private Bank; and Stephen Winig, former Real Estate Developer. Marilyn Weinberg, Philanthropist, joins the Board as an Honorary Board Member and Ira Gelb, MD, Assistant Dean and Clinical Professor at FAU’s Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine, as Medical Advisor.
