Dear Friends,

We are happy to present to you our current edition of Illumination Magazine. This issue is all about engagement and finding ways for you to connect through volunteering. Our volunteers consistently tell us that they get more out of volunteering than they give, and I personally agree with this statement. Whether it’s being a mentor to an at-risk youth, or helping to deliver High Holiday meals, JFS can help you find a meaningful way to impact the recipients of our services. We have both on-going and one-time opportunities, and I invite you to think about volunteering in a way that works best for you. Throughout this edition we highlight “Hero Opportunities” for you to volunteer in the upcoming months. We also are highlighting our “Heroes” who help underwrite the cost of many of our programs.

Also in this issue we look forward to our upcoming fundraising and event season (page 6) which, because of the hard work of our lay and professional leaders, will be another epic year! We are also eagerly planning our 40th Anniversary which we will celebrate throughout 2019 with 40 milestones of the agency and a special 40th Anniversary Fund to help mark the occasion (page 25).

Thank you to all of you who helped make the 2017-18 year so great for the agency, and we look forward to a fantastic 2018-19 season. Let’s make this the year to volunteer! I know I will be out there with you, and anticipate good things to come.

Happy Reading!
