Meet Taylor

From the first time job-seekers to those in career transition, JFS Career & Employment Services (CES) provides free employment-related workshops, individual career counseling, mock interviews, and resources for furthering education and training, CES also offers select stand along, low-cost services. 

Taylor attended the JFS Career & Employment Services Steps to Success workshop series after hearing about the program through a JFS Staff member, after recently moving back down to Florida from NYC. After completing the program and working one-on-one with a Career Strategist, the candidate expressed that she had been diagnosed with cancer at a young age, which caused her to have several gaps in her work history early on in her career. The CES team worked with the candidate for six months on her resume, application answers, interviewing skills, and most importantly her confidence, to provide her with the support needed to secure a job as an Account Executive in the legal field after successfully surviving cancer. The candidate expressed being excited to move out of her parents’ home and into her own, now that she was able to secure a position in the field of her choice.  

Highlights

119 candidates secured employment through CES.

Nearly 700 clients served through CES programs.

JFS has assisted over 1,000 clients with special needs, including their parents and grandparents, by providing support groups, case management and financial assistance.

1,447 people attended online support groups and workshops facilitated by JFS on topics that included bereavement, caregiving, coping with COVID, mindfulness, and even virtual summer camp.

JFS provided 135 survivors of domestic abuse with counseling, referrals and over $100,000 in financial assistance.
