Meet Carol
The closing of the Weisman Center due to COVID caused many of its members to feel isolated and emotionally challenged. Seniors had relied on the Center, as a “home away from home.” It was a place where they felt engaged, entertained and cared for “like family.”
Carol sent this message to us after the Weisman Center was able to reopen, “This week has been so special for me. When I was picked up Monday morning by the bus and was able to walk into the center again, I felt like a lost person being found. Seeing the staff with their smiling faces was just like a dream come true. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Throughout the whole time the center was closed due to the COVID pandemic, I felt the love and concern from the JFS staff and volunteers. The amount of energy and effort that went into the re-opening was wonderful and so appreciated by its members.”
Highlights
7,200 in-house and virtual visits. (The Center was closed and featured virtual only programming through July, 2021, and hybrid programming from July-August, 2021.)
