Spotlight on: Legacy Giving
Jane and Alan Cornell, as children of Holocaust survivors, are committed to ensuring that the survivors in our community live out the last years of their lives in comfort and dignit.
To use Jane and Alan’s own words, “As children of survivors, the Holocaust was always a shadow in our lives. We appreciate the opportunities given to us in this country, and want to give back to the community that has suffered so greatly. They should be able to live out the last few years as best they can, as they have suffered enough. We were lucky and we feel grateful to be able to give back to those in need.”
The couple has established the Jane and Alan Cornell Holocaust Survivor’s Fund with a gift of $100,000 to benefit the many Holocaust survivors in our area. As our Holocaust survivors age, their needs increase as their own resources diminish, and this gift will help in many ways.
Our community is so pleased that the Cornells have come forward to be part of our Legacy initiative. Their caring commitment to Ruth Rales Jewish Family Service is long-standing, and we are so appreciative of their extended commitment through this magnificent gift.
